In December 2004, Environmental Specialties completed an expansion of its headquarters and production facilities. Space for project groups and manufacturing was doubled. With overall volume increasing and demand for our highest technology products being ahead of our projections, the space increase was a welcome relief. Included in the construction was a major increase in our ability to conduct research and development. We created a large on-site -20°C chamber with breakaway panels to test our newest Reach-Ins and other components under a variety of temperature and humidity conditions. With many changes in the works, we plan to roll out a revitalized Reach-In line incorporating the latest in technology with the best durability we can create.
Luwa Environmental Specialties Transitions to New Ownership
The shareholders of our parent firm Zellweger Luwa AG decided in 2004 to divest themselves of operational holdings and become primarily financial investors in various markets. Consequently, the Luwa Americas Group, of which Luwa Environmental Specialties was a part, became the subject of divestment.
On September 30, 2005, that process ended with a collaboration of Zellweger Luwa’s primary shareholder Hesta AG and a new company called Bahnson Holdings, Inc., which is owned by the senior management of the Luwa Americas Group, including representation from Luwa Environmental Specialties. These two groups, with Hesta in the majority position and the management in a significant minority position, have purchased the Luwa Americas Group.
The net result is that the sale process is over, our company remains extremely financially well-grounded, and the management and strategic focus of the company remains intact. Not even the name changes...
