Environmental Specialties (ES) has developed a quality, state-of-the-art dry room series for a variety of applications.  Working directly with clients, ES engineers develop "turnkey solutions" to meet customers dry room needs.  The dry room is another quality product within the ES environmental chamber product line used throughout industrial and pharmaceutical research laboratories and production areas.

Dry Room Series - Product Description

ES believes in a turnkey solution where one company provides all the engineering, CAD drawings, manufacturing capabilities, and trained personnel to design, build, install and provide on-going services for its clients.

A dry room is a self-contained insulated enclosure operating at temperature setpoints from 65°F to 75°F and at a R.H. (Relative Humidity) setpoint as low as 2%. Many pharmaceutical applications require dry conditions to be maintained in product freezers or cold rooms and ES has designs for validated space.  Dry rooms are used when the presence of moisture during manufacturing or packaging may cause degradation in the product's quality, a decrease in the life expectancy of the finished product, or to prevent an unsafe condition.  Dry rooms can also be built to cleanroom criteria, and are virtually unlimited in size.  Working closely with the client, ES determines the relative humidity and the maximum tolerable setpoint is chosen to reduce the size of the desiccant drier (and its associated cost) used to dehumidify the room.

An ES dry room integrates state-of-the-art energy efficient control system designs, efficient and most current design for regenerative dryers and energy-reducing integral heat reclaim exchangers.  Non-CFC "Environmentally Friendly" mechanical refrigeration systems are provided and "cam-locked" insulated panels are used for the lower temperature applications. The product carries complete third party listings of all necessary construction materials and is quality certified through all stages of its fabrication. The most advanced flexible sealants are utilized to eliminate vapor transmission through the joints.

Dry Room Series - Standard Features

  • Insulated panel construction for ease of assembly, disassembly, and expansion.  Panel construction will be provided to match particular application.
  • High efficiency non-CFC direct expansion refrigeration systems.
  • Vertical or horizontal airflow designed to provide uniform conditions.
  • Fully proportional control algorithms to ensure close tolerance temperature and humidity control.
  • Intelligent integrated alarms that warn of a system malfunction with the ability to report to remote monitoring systems.
  • Energy reduction obtained by using heat exchangers in the DX refrigeration system to preheat building hot water systems, or by installing DX coils in the building's air handling system to preheat incoming make-up air.  All energy reduction systems are automatic in operation.
  • Unitary desiccant drier packaging that is service friendly and spatially efficient.
  • An anodized aluminum lay-in ceiling with high efficiency light fixtures and sound absorbing acoustical tile.
  • Automatic closing entry doors with magnetic gaskets and double seal floor sweeps.
  • Touchscreen system control of chamber parameters.

Dry Room Series Options - Structural / Electrical / Mechanical

  • 100% redundant refrigeration / drier systems to assure product quality and safety.
  • Preventative Maintenance Monitoring Package (PMMP) that monitors the operating parameters of the mechanical systems (pressures, refrigeration system superheats, refrigerant levels, reactivation temperatures, airflow, vibration) and alerts the maintenance department of problems before they develop.
  • Flexible viewing windows allow employees and clients to view the dry room operation without disturbing the process.
  • PLC control systems with touch screen operator interface and data logging capability.
  • Card reader access systems or connection points to existing card reader systems.
  • Dimmable lighting for energy conservation and emergency lighting in lieu of power loss.
  • Conductive floor coverings to eliminate static discharge.
  • NIST traceable performance testing to verify that the room runs in compliance with the performance specifications.
  • Preventative Maintenance (PM) and recalibration services performed by factory trained personnel.
